Radio Assignment

For my radio assignment I have had to compose three radio news stories: One purely copy, and the other two with a sound cut.

Steady and Strong

Hampshire County Council has organised Steady and Strong exercise classes for the elderly to prevent injuries and falls by 50%.

By preventing these accidents, older people will be able to stay independent for longer in their own homes.

Classes are to be held on Jewry Street with the Winchester Live at Home Scheme charity.

Horse Meat

Residents of Hampshire have been reassured by the County Council that all beef in their meals contain 100% beef in the wake of the horse meat scandal.

It has gone on to say that meals contain locally sourced ingredients.

Lee Dart is a partner of Newhouse Venison and Game dealers based in the New Forest.

IN: “With mass produced meat…”

OUT: “…eye on the ball with what’s going on.”

Velvet Buses

Winchester residents will soon be able to travel without the worry of missing their stop with the new system fitted to Velvet buses.

The Next Stop Audio-Visual system allows passengers to hear and see their next stop thanks to the GPS tracking technology.

Mikey Nevitt is a representative of Velvet bus operators.

AUDIO: VELVET

IN: “The system is a next stop…”

OUT: “… know where they are because of it.”

Radio Vox Pop

Here is my first attempt at a vox pop. We wandered around the university and asked students what their opinions were on the student nights out held at the university.
